welcome to oak grove.

Oak Grove offers a greener, more relaxed side of Atlanta living. Set in DeKalb County just north of Decatur, the area is a collection of established residential neighborhoods, with mature trees, generous yards, & a mix of midcentury ranches, traditional homes, & newer custom architecture. Rather than one central downtown, its gathering places are the neighborhood shops & restaurants along LaVista and Oak Grove roads—a setting that feels residential without feeling disconnected.

The local favorites are a big part of the appeal. Oak Grove Market has been serving the neighborhood since 1969, with breakfast, lunch, a butcher counter, & prepared meals that make it as useful on a busy weekday as it is before a backyard cookout. Sprig brings seasonal dining to the neighborhood, while Fellini’s keeps pizza night close to home. These are the kinds of places that can quickly become part of your routine, rather than somewhere you only go for a special occasion.

The surrounding neighborhoods each add something different. Sagamore Hills & Leafmore carry that same leafy, established character, with midcentury homes & neighborhood swim-and-tennis clubs. Toco Hills serves as a nearby shopping & dining hub, while the broader North Druid Hills area puts Emory & its surrounding institutions within reach. A little farther south, downtown Decatur offers a different pace: independent bookstores, destination restaurants, live music, & an active town square that gives a simple dinner out plenty of possibilities.

There’s also plenty of reason to spend time outside. Frazier-Rowe Park brings wooded trails, gardens, & a playground right into the Oak Grove area. Nearby, the South Peachtree Creek Trail connects Mason Mill Park, Medlock Park, & Emory through a network of paved paths & elevated boardwalks, with more woodland trails to explore along the way. Together, these green spaces are an important part of the area’s appeal—not just trees to admire from the window, but places to get out & enjoy them.
